Product and ingredient limitations
Crumb Scout can help review typed, pasted, or scanned ingredient information, but app results may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misread, mistranslated, or affected by packaging changes, regional formulation differences, missing context, or unclear images.
Crumb Scout cannot guarantee that any food, medication, cosmetic product, restaurant, kitchen, or other product is gluten-free or safe for a person with celiac disease.
What users should still verify
Where safety matters, users should always verify the following independently:
- the current product packaging in hand;
- ingredient lists and allergen statements;
- cross-contact wording, including statements such as "may contain", "shared equipment", or "shared facility";
- manufacturer information for food and cosmetic products;
- pharmacist or prescriber guidance for medication ingredients; and
- dietitian or clinician guidance for symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
Restaurant and travel limitations
Restaurant notes, translation cards, travel support content, and related tools are planning aids only. Staff training, kitchen practices, fryer use, ingredient substitutions, and local communication can change without notice.
Diary and symptom tracking
The CC Diary, saved entries, summaries, and related insights are intended for personal record-keeping and pattern awareness only. They are not a substitute for professional clinical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment decisions.
